Grimentz is located in the Val d´Anniviers above the town of Sierre in the Valais canton of southern Switzerland. The village is easily reached by car or public transport with connections to several airports via the Swiss motorways, rail and Post Bus networks.
The main airport to use to get to Grimentz is Geneva airport – there are many airlines that flly into Geneva including British Airways, BMI, Easyjet, Jet 2.com, Flybe, Swiss etc. In addition you can also come into Zurich airport. In addition many of our guests use Milan (Malpensa) and also Basel, which are both just over 2 hours drive to Grimentz, with the latter having a new rail link to Sierre where you can then get a bus to Grimentz
To get from Geneva or Zurich airport to Grimentz there are a number of ways. One of the easiest is to hop on the train that leaves Geneva airport every 30 minues and simply get off in Sierre. This takes about 2 hours its then a short taxi /bus journey.
The best way to obtain a train ticket from the airports to Sierre Sidders station is to buy directly at the airport train station, please ensure that you ask for a return and tell them the date you will be returning (otherwise they will give you a day return ticket), children under 16 are free of charge.

Transfers can be arranged from all airports and from Sierre train station with the local taxi company. Please see our links page for local taxi and transfer companies for details of the approximate cost for transfers.
There are then 2 ways of getting to Grimentz either on the local post bus direct from the station to Grimentz (or you may need to change at Vissoie) or by taxi which will only take about 25 minutes. Please note that there is an uphill walk of at least 10 minutes from the bus stop at La Poste.
Driving to Grimentz is easy from Geneva airport simply follow the motorway past Lausanne and keep following the motorway signs for Simplon Pass and Brig. On the way you will pass Montreux and Monthey and then Sion and finally Sierre. Come off the motorway after Sierre and which is signposted Sierre Est and the Val D’Anniviers then follow the signs to Grimentz, overall it will take you about 2 hours. If travelling from Milan, cars can be put on the train to take cars through the mountain to avoid using the pass at Simplon!
